This version of the Chuuk State Code (CSC) is the 2001 Draft Version. This 2001 Draft Version
of the Code was put together by the LIS Project, with
the assistance of the Office of the Legislative Counsel of
the Chuuk State Legislature, which supplied over half of the Code titles in preliminary draft
form.
This is the first
attempted codification of the laws of the State of Chuuk since
the Truk District Code (TDC) was published in
1970. This draft version of the Code contains Chuuk State Laws up through CSL 6-01-04. It includes permanent Truk District Laws (TDL), Truk State Laws (TSL), and Chuuk State Laws (CSL). It also includes selected Trust Territory Code (TTC) provisions that continue in effect in the State of Chuuk.
This 2001 Draft Version of the Code is currently being reviewed by the leadership of Chuuk State and will be submitted to the Chuuk State Legislature for enactment. This draft Code contains marks denoting technical revisions, with underlined text being added and struck out text being deleted. Users may utilize this draft Code as a useful research tool and cite to the source laws set forth in the source following each Section of the Code. Chuuk State Code citations should not be used at this time, as they will not be official until the Code is enacted by the Chuuk State Legislature. Format editing was done by the LIS Project to improve the readability of the Code. Additional cross references and links have been added throughout the draft Code by the LIS Project to assist in more efficient research.
