There is hereby authorized an annual appropriation of three thousand dollars out of the General Fund of Truk District Legislature Chuuk State for the purpose of establishing a Fire Disaster Relief Fund.

The purpose of this Chapter is to provide relief to persons suffering loss or damage to homes or furnishings as a result of accidental fires. The money paid out of such Fire Disaster Relief Fund shall be considered relief, and no repayment thereof will be required; provided however, that no more than two hundred dollars may be granted to any one family in any one year from the funds so appropriated.

The fiscal responsibility for the Fire Disaster Relief Fund shall be in the Truk District Treasurer Director of the Treasury of Chuuk State. All records of money paid out under this Chapter shall be kept by the office of the District Treasurer Director of the Treasury.

Any person desiring monetary relief from accidental fire shall submit a . Certificate of Fire Disaster. to the District Treasurer Director of the Treasury. Such a certificate shall include a sworn statement that the applicant"s home was destroyed or damaged by accidental fire, the amount of damage, and the amount of relief requested. The certificate shall be certified by the District State Chief of Police following his investigation and finding that the facts stated in the certificate are true. The certificate forms prescribed for use by this Section shall be drawn up and administered by the District State Chief of Police . s office. The District Treasurer Director of the Treasury shall pay out all sums requested under a duly certified "Certificate of Fire Disaster" subject to the limitation set forth in Section 1052 of this Chapter.

At the end of each fiscal year, all monies not used or encumbered under this Chapter shall revert to the general revenues of the Truk District Legislature General Fund of the State of Chuuk.
