The driver of any vehicle involved in
an accident resulting in injury or death to any person or damage to
property shall immediately stop such vehicle and shall give his name,
address, and the registration number of his vehicle, and exhibit his
operator's license to the person struck or the driver or occupants of any
vehicle collided with, and shall render to any person injured in such
accident reasonable assistance.

The driver of any vehicle involved in
an accident resulting in injury or death to any person or property damage
to an apparent extent of $100.00 or more, shall, within 24 hours (or as
soon thereafter as normal means of transportation and communication will
permit), forward a written report of such accident to the Chief of Police.
All accident reports shall be without prejudice and shall not be
open to public inspection.

The person in charge of any garage or
repair shop to which is brought any motor vehicle which shows evidence of
having been involved in a serious accident or struck by any bullet shall
report to the nearest police station within 24 hours (or as soon
thereafter as normal means of transportation and communication will
permit), after such motor vehicle is received, giving the engine number,
registration number, and the name and address of the owner or operator of
such vehicle.

The Chief of Police shall prepare
forms for accident reports calling for sufficiently detailed information
to disclose with reference to a highway accident the cause, conditions
then existing, and the person and vehicles involved.
